Keith B. Wood teaches history at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, TN. He received a Ph.D. in history from the University of Memphis in 2018. His research focuses on the intersection of race and sport in the city of Memphis. His most recent work, Memphis Hoops: Race and Basketball in the Bluff City, 1968-1997, examines the city through the lens of the Memphis State University basketball team and its star player turned coach Larry Finch. He has published articles in The West Tennessee Historical Society Papers, Black Ball Journal, Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball & American Culture, and the SABR Biography Project. He has also presented papers at the Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture on the Memphis Red Sox of the Negro leagues.
